Accessibility / everyone gets a door

Ownroom is committed to making its website usable across devices, input methods, and access needs.

Our target

We design and test toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. This statement describes our current approach and is not a third-party certification of conformance.

Measures built into the site

  • Keyboard-accessible navigation and visible focus indicators
  • Semantic headings, landmarks, labels, and disclosure states
  • Reduced-motion behavior for visitors who request it
  • Static fallbacks when cinematic media cannot play
  • Responsive layouts and touch targets designed for mobile use
  • Text alternatives for meaningful non-text content
  • No required audio, flashing content, or time-limited form tasks

Known considerations

The homepage includes an optional cinematic room experience. Visitors can skip transitions, use the overview below the room, navigate by keyboard, or rely on the reduced-motion presentation. Rendering can vary by browser, connection, and device, so we continue testing as the experience evolves.

Feedback and assistance

If anything prevents you from accessing information or completing an action, message @ownroom.xyz on Instagram with “Accessibility” and describe the page, device, browser, and problem. We will work to provide the information in an accessible format and address verified barriers.
